I thought I answered this. There are many ways to observe actual thinking.?As long as one observes it, quantitative analysis of behavior would have no problem with it.?The issue comes up about positing "mental" mechanisms that are not observable, such as free will as opposed to choice. 1.?Seeing an organism behave in a way that directly affects the world 2.?Looking at activity in the brain using a mired of technologies 3.?Adding or subtracting a gene or protein and seeing if it hurts or enhances the activity 4.?Fine tuning a problem by making it only possible to solve it in one way There are many many more. |
