MLC:?That is simply not true.?In behavioral psychology, assimilation is transfer of training.?Accommodation is a subset of behavioral cusps that produce stage change. If assimilation is transfer, how exactly does one explain assimilation in the following example: Take the classic task investigating children’s concepts of cows, pigs, and animals in which we show the child ten cows but only three pigs. Comparing two children, one asserts there are more cows than animals, the other, fewer cows than animals. Are these examples of assimilation for the behaviorist and how would the behaviorist describe these two different assimilations if they are assimilations. |
