Les, It is good to hear from you.?I was aware of Adey and Shayer's work in science education.?The folks you met?from Oregon introduced me to it and Trevor Bond actually did an example lesson from it at a regional conference.?I was not aware of work Adey and Shayer had done with teacher epistemology.? Would the 1989 citation include a discussion of the instrument they used or did they use a general instrument??The activity I saw Trevor do could have been reworked?as an interview protocol testing for formal thinking. If they used clinical interviews for assessment of teacher epistemologies I could use their findings to develop my own tool over time and I would be fascinated to read it but?I'm not sure it would further my research as much as an established general tool?which could assess their perspective on the nature of knowledge.? ? Thanks, Jonas |

Here are instruments we use to train teachers and test for their stage of understanding. | 2008/10/29 11:30:42 | Michael Lamport Commons |
