Kant's example is a good example in that it instantiates the twin criteria of universality and necessity. Kant was not contending that anyone would in fact always give the an answer based on APK to the question "what is 7 + 5?" - Kant was not addressing the problem of what psychology calls transfer. He was contending that an answer based on APK is different from one amounting to 2a/b [see my previous email today]. So yes of course: Kant realised the difference - so did Spinoza with his three levels of knowing, as too Leibniz with its astute reminder that empirical learning never amounts to demonstration, and a long line right back to Plato. Greco's distinction reflects this, and in any case he was following Piaget [his 1941 paper; his 1941 book with Szeminska; his 1942 logical model etc], no doubt adding a new case of non-APK.
