Call for Program Proposals 43rd Annual Meeting of The Jean Piaget Society June 6?, 2013, Chicago USA Social Development: Current Trends & Perspectives (Organizers: Elliot Turiel, Cecelia Wainryb, Na’ilah Nasir) Submission Deadline: 15 December 2012 Plenary Speakers: Joan Grusec (University of Toronto) Richard Shweder (University of Chicago) Margaret Beale Spencer (University of Chicago) Stephen Suomi (National Institute of Child Health and Human Development) Elliot Turiel (University of California ?Berkeley) The meeting in 2013 will focus on current trends and perspectives on social development. Invited contributors will consider questions pertaining to how biology, culture, socialization, economic disadvantage, rationality, and relational-constructive processes contribute to social and emotional development. The plenary speakers will explore, compare, and contrast different epistemological perspectives on social development. Submissions need not address the conference theme—we welcome submissions on any topic in developmental science. The aim of the Jean Piaget Society is to promote the study of the of knowledge and development. We are an international, interdisciplinary society of scholars, teachers and researchers interested in exploring the nature of the developmental construction of human knowledge.
