*Adult Development models shaping practical action - any good examples?* Hi Michael, I appreciate you pointing out which models have had least testing, but my query was about real-world applications of any of these models. What are the best examples of the practical applications of Lectical, MHC, M-Space, Fischer, Demetriou? Examples of these developmental models being used to make a difference in policies, projects, educational approaches etc? One of Britain's most influential policy thinkers ?Matthew Taylor ?appears willing to promote this kind of developmental thinking, **if** I can provide him with a few clear examples of its positive, practical impact. He suspects that it's (too) difficult to convince a wider audience that these ideas can "usefully shape practical action". I've put this query to a number of lists. So far very little has emerged that might prove to him that (adult) developmental model can in fact "usefully shape practical action." I'm sure these approaches can be useful and practical ?as I'm sure everyone on this list is. But it seems like I might have to do quite a lot of work to uncover this practical side! On another list, my request just seemed to prompt an argument over whose developmental model was the most satisfyingly complex! Again, nothing to do with what I asked about... |
