Perhaps "history" is not interesting enough to people for the same usual reasons people are not attracted to it: - Do not see the importance of "history" nor the influence of "history" on the "now", which is "important" and imminent compared to the past. - Find "history" dry and boring and can't see how knowledge from "history" can be applied to help what is being done now - Assumption that what is already known about "history" is enough and there is no need to know more in order to do the job well now - Assumption that looking at what has already been done will not help to produce inspiration of what is the next new and exciting thing to do (in terms of research or theory) Just some stabs |
