PSYCHOLOGY INSTRUCTOR ?Competition Number 08-72 The Psychology Department is seeking one full-time regular faculty in Developmental Psychology (Child, Adolescence, or Adulthood) for May 1, 2009. Candidates should have an outstanding teaching record, a good record of research accomplishment, and a commitment to the development of the department. We take great pride in our student-centered approach to learning. Our award-winning faculty are experts in their fields with a passion for teaching. The Psychology Department has 24 full time faculty with expertise in many areas of psychology including behavioral neuroscience, cognitive, clinical/counseling, developmental, evolutionary, health, human factors, quantitative/methods, and social/personality. We offer two successful 4-year bachelor’s degree programs: a Bachelor of Applied Arts (BAA) in Psychology and a General Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology. Both degrees have honours options. An applied MA in Psychology is also being considered. We offer a truly exceptional work environment that includes small lecture classes (typically limited to 35 students) and seminar classes (typically 25 students), a culture of collegiality and respect, a junior faculty mentorship program, an active student society, and work schedules that strive to balance work lives and personal lives. Requirements A Ph.D. in Psychology must be completed by the time of hire or within the two-year probationary period.
