The Jean Piaget Society Society for the Study of Knowledge & Development POSTER Submission Form 40th Annual Meeting, St. Louis, Mo. 3-5 June 2010 POSTER PRESENTATION SUBMISSION FORM HOW TO USE THIS FORM 1. Download the form from the web site and save it to your hard drive (you’ve already done that). 2. Open the file using Microsoft Word (or any other word processor). 3. Complete all sections of the form and save a copy on your hard drive. 4. Create an e-mail message addressed to webmaster@piaget.org and attach the file to the message. 5. Once we receive the e-mail and the file attachment, we will send an acknowledgement to you via e-mail. ABOUT POSTER SUBMISSIONS Poster presentations may be focused on either empirical findings or theoretical analysis. The conference usually holds two poster sessions held on separate days. The sessions are organized around broad themes derived from the posters selected for each session. Posters are mounted for display in a high-traffic area for the entire day of the session, but presenting authors need only attend their poster during the official session near the end of the day. A poster proposal must include a 1000 word summary for the program review committee. GENERAL SUBMISSION NOTES Proposals will be accepted in English only. Acknowledgement of the receipt of your submission will be sent by e-mail to the first author. The Program Committee will notify those submitting proposals of its decision in February, 2010. Although every effort will be made to respect the presenter’s choice, the form of the presentation may be changed by the Program Committee. Should this be necessary, the change will be indicated in your letter of notification. Details regarding the scheduling of accepted submissions will be sent in March, 2010. RULES AND RESTRICTIONS 1. All presenters must register for the meeting. 2. Individuals may not be listed as authors on more than two presentations. 3. Presentations must not have been presented at any other meeting having the same general audience as the Jean Piaget Society. In submitting this proposal the presenting author agrees as follows: "If this proposal is accepted, I agree to present the poster personally or to make arrangements for another person to present it at the 40th Annual Meeting of Jean Piaget Society in St. Louis, Missouri, 3-5 June 2010." Rodin202001@yahoo.com SUMMARY FOR REVIEW COMMITTEE Poster Title: Summary: (maximum 1000 words, please do not include author names) Evaluation of student's Movement skill in Tehran DCD Forth and Fifth Grade Elementary school and effect of visual imagery on their function. The main goal of this research was evaluating movement skill in Tehran DCD Forth and Fifth grade elementary school students and effect visual imagery on improvement their function. Method: For this purpose by use of VVIQ questionnaire of David Marks and practical test ( Free shooting mini basketball ) . 40 student of DCD' Forth and Fifth Grade Elementary school student from " Learning Disorders Center?" have been measured. First for evaluate capabilities mental imagery I gave them VVIQ questionnaire and divided them in two group ( control and experimental ) . For control group without mental practice and for experimental group with mental practice. Every subject shooting?free ball 20 times in every session . For experimental group in every session before shooting are given them 3 minutes mental practice accompany relaxation , after 8 sessions assessed the effect of mental practice on improvement function on them. The main question " Is this relationship between mental practice and movement skill? For this purpose we used correlation between two variables (VVIQ and movement skill) . main and independence?group was used to analysis data. VVIQ test was carried out on all subjects and also movement skill ( free shooting ball in mini basketball ) . Results: 1- correlation analysis show there is no relationship between movement skill and visual imagery in these DCD students .? r=./.87 2- Do improve student's movement skill when they use mental practice? H0= There is no significance difference between past test and pre test. H1= There is significance difference between past test and pre test The Hypothesis Testing show , there is no significance?difference between past test and pre test. There is significance difference between past test and pre test in speed time in shooting ball in mini basketball 3- VVIQ with closed eyes, are more than VVIQ with open eyes results shoes that mean, St .deviation and std. .error mean in VVIQ ( closed eyes ) are more than VVIQ with open eyes) .but this subject in Hypothesis testing states there is no significance difference ( ./237) , so the abilities of VVIQ in DCD students in open eye and closed eye there is no significance difference. 4- Movement skills in DCD girls in more than boys?results show there is no significance difference between boys and girls in movement skills in DCD students. 5- VVIQ ( open eyes and closed eyes in DCD girls are more than DCD boys . results show (Sig. = ./575) there is no significance difference between boys and girls and Null hypothesis?are accepted.
