Postdoctoral Research Associate (80% FTE) in Developmental Psychology

Applications are invited for a 24 month 0.8FTE (4 days per week) postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Department of Psychology, Royal Holloway, University of London. The Department of Psychology is an international centre for excellence in research, ranked 7th in the UK Research Assessment Exercise (RAE, 2008). It hosts a dynamic and varied research base that covers areas from neuroscience to developmental and social psychology.
This position is funded by a Leverhulme Trust research grant awarded to Dr Patrick Leman and Dr Dawn Watling (Royal Holloway, University of London) and Professor Adam Rutland (University of Kent). The project will explore how ethnicity influences children's interactions with their peers, and how the dynamics of interaction relate to social outcomes and learning. The primary duties include: liaising with schools, developing stimulus materials and collecting data, analyzing children's interactions and quantitative data, and disseminating findings.
The planned start date is 1st May 2011.
Applicants should hold a PhD in psychology or a related field and should have excellent quantitative research skills. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to work with children are also essential.
